Visit the cities and towns of Andalucía

The culture of Andalucia cannot be truly appreciated until you have had an opportunity to visit one or more of its world-famous cities.

Well-known cities like Malaga with its Alcazar and Picasso museam, Granada with its Sierra Nevada and the mighty Alhambra Palace, Cordoba with its famous cathedral / mosque and precious patios, and beautiful Seville with its real Alcazar are all easily accessible by car.

We also recommend a trip to Ronda, built on a 200m deep cleft, as well as to Guadix with its thousands of cave-houses.

Should you prefer to stay closer to our B&B, there is just as well a lot to see and do, including a drive through the many white towns in the Axarquia region. For the most idyllic views, we suggest the following route: Torrox to Competa to Archez, Sedella and to Canillas de Aceituna and then back via Trapiche to Velez-Malaga.

Almost all of these towns date back to Arab times and the influence is reflected in the small winding streets with whitewashed houses.

Or why not take a tour through the Alpujarras?

Las Alpujarras” is a mountainous district in Southern Spain, which stretches south from the Sierra Nevada mountains. The villages are built into the mountainside among oak and walnut trees. The houses, with their flat roofs, are unique to Andalucia.

During this tour, you will pass through Lanjaron, famous for its spring water.

Pass through villages like Pampaneira, Capilleira or go all the way to Trevéles, the highest constantly inhabited village in Spain, where the famous ‘Serrano ham’ is dried and prepared to be exported throughout the whole world.
